Pan Multi Controls
Note: Turbo Play Pan Controls are quite different when compared to other software pan controls because of their greater flexibility to control an unlimited number of targets. Be sure to understand the information below in order to use a multi pan control efficiently.
A Pan is a control that allows you to set the volume of multiple items at the same time. Unlike most audio software pan controls which limit you to Left/Right only, Turbo Play has 3 forms of extremely flexible Pan Control which allow you to place an unlimited number of items inside, and move them in a 2D or even a virtual 3D room. A Pan control can be added to the Mixer.
All pan controls are drawn with a transparency level which indicates how far the pan control is from them, and all pan controls can display item labels and item values.
Auto Arrangement Pan Controls
These pan controls allow you to put many items into an ellipse and pan through them in an easy way.
Right click in a new pan control to add some items, then they are automatically placed in the ellipse. The pan mover allows you to pan between all these controls. This is the simplest pan control, but it assumes that all items' distances are equal, which is not always the case.
2D Pan Controls
These pan controls not only allow you to place multiple items, but also enable you to move them inside a virtual room in any position you want.
After you have placed some items, you can move them inside the square (The virtual room) in the same way your actual speakers are arranged. This will provide realistic pan when the pan control (the red ellipse) is moved to pan the sound inside the 2D Virtual room.
Right click on a blue item to erase it from the list.
Double click on an item to manually set its X,Y position.
3D Pan Controls
For those that want the ultimate pan control realism, TP offers a 3D Pan control which allows you to create a virtual 3D room and place the items and the panner inside that room.
After you have placed some items, you can move them inside the cube (The virtual room) in the same way your actual speakers are arranged. Hold down the left mouse button , then move the mouse right or left to move the X axis, move the mouse up or down to move the Y axis, or use the mouse wheel to move the Y axis.
Double click on an item to manually set its X,Y,Z position.
Turbo Play also allows for 3D movement of the very same virtual room. Click the mouse somewhere outside an item and move it in the same way (right left up down or with the wheel) to move the virtual room the way you want.
Turbo Play even allows for 3D rotation of the virtual room. Use the mouse while holding down SHIFT to rotate the cube in the X , Y or Z axis.
Turbo Play is compatible with 3DConnection 3D mice devices. If you own such a device, you can use it in 'object' mode to move the pan in a 3D pan control. For more on 3D mice devices, see 3DConnexion.
